Nature's Classroom: We did it!

We are so pleased to report that the Nature’s Classroom Campaign, launched less than three months ago, has exceeded its goal of raising $4,000.00. This assures that the Conservancy’s Science and Nature Education Programs for youth in the Mayne Island School and in the community at large will continue with strength.

William Wordsworth, the English Romantic poet is quoted as saying, “Let Nature be your teacher.” How very right he was. And, on a more contemporary note, the British re-wilding consultant, educator and broadcaster Ben Palmer Fry says, “Nature breeds curiosity; it helps to grow explorers rather than robots. It reminds us that we are part of something bigger. It grounds us, calms us.”

From the directors and staff of the Conservancy as well as the youth on and around Mayne Island, we heartily thank you for your support.
