The Conservancy’s second annual Community Bat Program has increased in size with several important milestones including: a celebrated Community Bat presentation by HAT wildlife biologists, 18 bat surveys across Mayne Island, and over 100 bat sightings. These observations coupled with guano samples support species identification and assist in monitoring population dynamics.

Thank you to all who participated in the program this year. If you are interested in a bat survey next season, please contact us to be added to our 2018 list of survey sites. If you would like advice on how to preserve and improve bat habitat on your property, or would like to purchase a bat box, please contact us at 250-539-5168 or info@mayneconservancy.ca.
