Annual Beach Clean-Up
April 23 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

The island-wide beach clean up returns for 2023!
An annual event sponsored by the Recycling Society and the Conservancy, this is an important community event that draws participants from all over the island.
Community members join up with their neighbourhood crews to tackle garbage and recycling removal from beaches around the island. The refuse is collected and taken to the recyling depot, where it is weighed and sorted for send off to the landfill, or, if possible, to the Ocean Legacy recycling depot!
Last year, 583 kg of plastic, styrofoam, tires, and other garbage was removed from beaches around the island – let’s see if we can break that record this time around.
