Ethnobotany Garden Opening and Art Unveiling

Come join us for an event celebrating W̱SÁNEĆ ethnobotany and the unveiling of new public art on SḴŦAḴ/Mayne Island! Meet at the ethnobotany garden at 2 pm for an Elder’s Ceremonial Planting immediately followed by the Unveiling of artist Sarah Jim’s SḴŦAḴ Triptych installations. Then join us at the Ag Hall for cake and tea and a community conversation on W̱SÁNEĆ ethnobotany.

Participants will learn about:
- the uses of culturally important plants of the W̱SÁNEĆ people
- the ŦIKEL / Wetland ethnobotany garden we are planting on Mayne / SḴŦAḴ
Admission by donation. All donations to go to the maintenance fund for the ŦIKEL / Wetland ethnobotany garden on Mayne / SḴŦAḴ.
