Family Birding

December 12, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Your child is walking through the forest, when suddenly a flurry of feathers catches their eye. What kind of bird do they see? Is it a year-round resident, or a migrating bird passing through? If your kids (and you!) are keen to learn more, our family friendly birding event is for you.

The family birding program will run on December 12th, from 10:00 – 11:30 am. In the style of our Family Nature Explorations sessions, we will have a guided walk through the forest and onto the beach, watching for birds and talking about the diversity of birds we have on Mayne Island. Bird colouring pages will be provided.

This program is best suited for children ages 12 and under. Binoculars and field guides are highly encouraged if you have them, but are not necessary to participate.

This is a free event. Registration is required and spaces are limited. We will be in touch the week prior with the location and other information for participants. Contact our Stewardship Coordinator Katie (katie@mayneconservancy.ca) with any inquiries.
