Household items for sale June 24

We will hold the final yard sale at St John Point on Sunday, June 24, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.  We will be selling the remaining large items in the cottage: three woodburning stoves, one of which is a kitchen cookstove; bathroom fixtures; a large propane tank; an on-demand propane-fired water heater, bookshelves, tables and more.  See below for photos.

Structural pieces for salvage (later this summer)

If you’re interested in recycled building materials, drop by on June 24 to have a look at what will be coming available in the following weeks. The cottage and the small sheds nearby will be dismantled and the materials will be set aside for people to reuse.   (The cottage is not suitable for conservation: it simply isn’t practical or affordable to upgrade it to a usable structure and protect it over the long term from vandalism and inappropriate uses.  It couldn’t be moved off the site without needing to cut back large trees next to the narrow entrance lane.)  Potential salvageable items will include the 2-year-old metal roof from the cottage, windows, siding, the sheds and much more.  The dismantling will not occur on June 24; it will happen over a period of time that is yet to be determined, but on the 24th we will start a list of those who are willing to commit to removing items they express interest in.  Please DO NOT attempt to dismantle anything by yourself prior to the CRD doing this work.  We will let people know when the materials will be available as soon as the CRD commits to a schedule.  So, come along on and let us know what you’re interested in.
