The Conservancy has embarked on planning for May Day 2023 and we need volunteers.

For those of you who have moved to Mayne in the last two or three years, this madcap Conservancy fundraising event takes place on the Saturday of the May long weekend—the first Farmers’ Market of the year, May 20, 2023.

We have all kinds of opportunities for community engagement and would LOVE your support and involvement.

We are looking for volunteers to participate in the numerous activities in lead up to and on the day of the event. Volunteer opportunities include:

• advance preparations, planning, volunteer coordinators
• face painting
• assisting with garland and wand decorating
• selling tickets for the May Day prize draw
• maypole dancers
• serving refreshments
• cleanup

We are also looking for donations of fresh cut flowers and garden greenery for decorating garlands and wands, as well as any bits and bobs from your craft drawer that you may be cleaning out.
