What is a BioBlitz?

It’s an event, where scientists and community members come together to “blitz” a region—in this case Mayne and Galiano Islands— in an intensive inventory of species. For two days, we walk and paddle the Islands counting and identifying all the species we find: plants, fungi, insects, birds, mammals, everything.

It’s a way of expanding our knowledge of the place we call home.

And we’re raising funds to support this important new project, through a kayaking fundraiser: Paddle Along for Biodiversity.
