Invite Us To Your Neighbourhood Block Parties!

Published by Justine Apostolopoulos on

Are you planning a block party for your neighbourhood?

We’d love to attend!

Besides being a great way to spend time and connect with your neighbours, block parties offer a fantastic opportunity to gather together as a community and learn more about the plants and animals that  live in your neighbourhood and what you can do to help keep local habitats healthy and vibrant.

The Conservancy is offering workshops (free of charge) for your neighbourhood block party, with a variety of activities that can include:

  • A plant identification walk: what is growing where you live? Are any of the plants invasive? Edible? Rare?
  • A demonstration on how to remove invasive species present in your neighbourhood.
  • Assistance in planning a future neighbourhood work-party.
  • A presentation on a nature topic of interest to your group.

Have questions? Interested in booking a workshop? Get in contact with our Stewardship Coordinator, Justine, at stewardship@mayneconservancy.ca or 250-539-2535.
