Matching Donation Campaign a Success!
The results are now in, and our 2024 donor matching campaign achieved a record amount, raising over $30,000 during the month of December!
The campaign started with a generous gift of $10,000 from a local islander and ended with donations right up to New Year’s Eve. This is an incredible outcome for the Conservancy, and it demonstrates the trust that the community has in our work.
For the campaign, we had a fundraising theme in mind. We wanted to create a strong foundation for our new Land Protection Program, which we will begin to implement this year. Our goal is to increase the amount of protected space on SḴŦAḴ | Mayne Island from the current level of 10% (one of the lowest in the Gulf Islands), to 30% by 2033 – our 30th anniversary. Thanks to your generous gifts, we are now in an excellent position to achieve this goal.
Thank you to our many donors. We so much appreciate your support and your commitment to preserving our island’s environment. And as we head into 2025, the staff, board and volunteers at the Conservancy want to wish all of you a very happy New Year!
