On November 3rd, the Mayne Island Conservancy Society will propose a revision to its bylaws to make it possible to add a Lifetime membership category. As membership categories are included in the Society Bylaws, any such changes require a Special Resolution and a General Meeting.
BACKGROUND
The Mayne Island Conservancy is required under the Societies Act to maintain a current roster of members, which makes it difficult to keep track of renewals for those who wish to retain their membership from year to year. Therefore, we are proposing to introduce a Lifetime membership. The fee associated with this will be determined when the bylaws have been revised to allow for it.
