The Land Trust Alliance of BC for the last 25 years has been an alliance of 40 land trusts within BC and parts of Alberta with a vision to position British Columbia as a global model of communities living in harmony with their natural and cultural heritage. The Mayne Island Conservancy has been a member of this alliance for about 15 years and over that time period has had directors on the LTABC Board for two terms.

As a member, the Conservancy benefits from the Alliance’s advocacy for the land trust movement at the provincial and national levels and its member support services including adopting standards and practices, creating and negotiating covenants as well as baseline ecological reports and providing umbrella liability insurance for members and benefit packages for member staff.
The Alliance hosts an annual seminar series which gathers all the BC land trusts to learn and share experiences about their work and programs, as well as offering networking opportunities. Recent online seminars have been very timely relating to Indigenous relations, wildfire management and conservation planning.
The Mayne Island Conservancy is a proud member of this alliance and will continue to support its work.
