You Did It!
Well, Mayne Islanders and friends are certainly generous! Our December matching campaign was the best we’ve ever had; you helped us exceed our goal of $30,000.
Over the course of the month I watched each gift come in. So many names I recognized, and some I didn’t, but all of you are helping us to protect and preserve this wonderful island. Over the next few months we will finalize the details of our Land Protection Program, which we can then share with you on our website. You’ll see how our extraordinary staff are planning to make this a priority for our organization, all at the same time that we continue to bring you exciting education programs, stimulating speakers, and “reports from the field.” We expect our impact in 2026 to be very apparent, and that’s thanks to you for making this all possible.
I met up with Rudy North, our lead donor for this year’s campaign, at the end of December to let him know that not only did we match his $15,000, but surpassed it. He was amazed at the generosity of folks on the island, in fact, he wants to replicate our program on Bowen Island where he lives!
