Event Recordings: Winter Bird Species Identification with Michael Dunn
Join local bird expert and Conservancy Executive Director Michael Dunn in identifying winter bird species on the island.
In his presentation, recorded in two parts below, Michael focuses on birds that are harder to identify from one another, drawing our attention to distinguishing characteristics that will help us tell them apart and spot them in the wild – from behaviour to markings to preferred habitat.
Every year, in preparation for the Christmas Bird Count, Michael leads bird identification workshops paired with an outdoor birding excursion (this year led by Dan Guinan) for birders on the island and beyond.
